Four charity runners and one qualified runner laced up their shoes for autism education and autism research to run the 123rd Boston Marathon on Monday April 15, 2019.
Charity runners Edward Pearson, Stella Adu-Gyamfi, Joseph Byron, and Marna Meltzer-McMorris (pictured, right) took on the added task of reaching a $10,000 minimum fundraising goal. They ran the marathon for NECC through the John Hancock Marathon Non-Profit Program, a program NECC has been part of for more than 7 years.
NECC teacher Hannah Krueger, who ran as a charity runner for NECC in 2017, ran as a qualified participant.
As of Marathon Monday, Team NECC exceeded the team goal by more than $6,000, bringing in over $51,000.
