Mary-Kate, a long-time employee at NECC, recently left to pursue opportunities in her hometown. She wrote this touching post about her experience here. We are confident Mary-Kate will have great success in her future position. Good luck Mary-Kate!
“We are headed to our hometown of Birmingham to pursue career opportunities and be closer to family. The New England Center for Children has absolutely changed my life. I have had the pleasure of working alongside some of the hardest working, dedicated, inspiring, and driven clinicians and teachers. I have been undeniably lucky to learn from some amazing supervisors that have taught me how to provide empirically-based treatments to children with ASD in a compassionate way.
I am so grateful for the academic opportunities afforded to me by NECC – the executive committee is dedicated to helping staff earn graduate degrees and provides an environment where research and learning are welcomed and promoted.
To all the parents I have worked with: thank you for sharing your child with me and letting me into your family.
I can’t put into words how much the students I have worked with over the last 8 years have touched my heart. They have taught me more than anything I have learned in the classroom about love, acceptance, patience, and perseverance.
Thank you.”
