The Annual 5K Walk/Run for Autism was held on Saturday, May 12th at the Neary School in Southborough. Despite the rainy conditions, the event was an overwhelming success and continues to be a core event in NECC’s fundraising campaigns. Approximately 1,300 participants came together to raise more than $211,000 for the NECC Annual Fund. The Annual Fund supports autism education and research by providing financial support for adapted equipment and materials for students, promoting graduate training programs for teachers, and disseminating effective autism education research. By supporting these goals, together we can have a true impact on families in both our local communities and abroad, and increase understanding of autism and its many facets.
Kevin Ryan and Hannah Krueger were the adult men’s and women’s race winners, respectively, with times of 17:21 and 19.41. See the complete photo gallery on our Facebook page here and view race results here.
Thank you to our participants, volunteers, students, families, staff, event sponsors and in-kind partners for supporting this community-wide event. You are leading the way in autism education and research!
