On November 27th, The New England Center for Children will again participate in international #GivingTuesday. #GivingTuesday is a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. Founded in 2012 by the 92nd Street Y – a community and cultural center in New York City –#GivingTuesday inspired millions of people to give back and support the causes they believe in.
“The New England Center for Children is proud to participate in Giving Tuesday,” said Jared Bouzan, NECC Chief Development Officer. “NECC relies on the generosity and philanthropy of individuals, corporations and foundations to further our mission – to transform the lives of children with autism worldwide through education, research, and technology.”
This year, NECC’s #GivingTuesday initiative will back the efforts of #TeamNECC. Team NECC comprises four runners who are fundraising for NECC’s Annual Fund and running the Boston Marathon through the John Hancock Nonprofit Marathon Program.
“We are incredibly inspired by the way the #GivingTuesday community has embraced this concept for a worldwide movement,” said Henry Timms, founder of #GivingTuesday and Executive Director of the 92nd Street Y. “As we prepare for November 27, we’re energized and encouraged by the community’s generosity. The levels of creativity, effort and the quality of the new ideas people have contributed and shared are phenomenal.”
