NECC announces the election of Elizabeth Wetherbee Klein to the Board of Directors. Mrs. Klein is a marketing consultant, volunteer and mother of three children.

“The New England Center for Children is excited and honored to have Beth Klein join our Board of Directors,” said Vincent Strully, President and CEO of The New England Center for Children. “Beth brings important professional and community insights to our Board and is a dynamo in fundraising and philanthropic activity.”

Mrs. Klein has chaired the annual Children of Promise Gala (www.necc.org/gala) Host Committee the past two years, helping the event reach new heights in fundraising, outreach, and style.

“I’m thrilled to join the Board of The New England Center for Children,” said Mrs. Klein, “and to collaborate with a brilliant and dedicated faculty and staff, those educating and caring directly for NECC’s more than 680 students. Together we strive to ensure that on the Southborough, MA campus and around the world, children with autism are given the tools they need to achieve their greatest potential. Given NECC’s graduate teaching program and Autism Curriculum Encyclopedia (ACE) software application, NECC receives well-deserved recognition among Massachusetts’ most important exports.”

Mrs. Klein’s business career was spent in marketing, relationship management and product development. Prior to starting her own consulting practice, Mrs. Klein spent sixteen years leading marketing teams in the investment industry, most recently as SVP of Informa Financial Intelligence, a division of UK-based Informa PLC. Mrs. Klein is actively involved in education, nonprofits and fundraising. She has served on the Advisory Council for Southborough Public Schools, is currently on the board of the Southborough Community Fund and is a UMass Medicine Development Council member. She was a fundraiser for both the Lori Lajoie Golf Tournament, benefiting Worcester’s The Seven Hills Foundation, and the Congenital Heart Walk Boston Gala. A Concord, MA native and graduate of Syracuse University, Mrs. Klein lives in Southborough with her husband David and their three children.
